Education Specialist

Job Title:                       Education Program Specialist                                 

 General Summary:         Promote, develop and implement the various education programs of South Dakota Farmers Union.

Essential Functions:      

• Oversee duties of the summer camping staff, and the District and County education leaders in the education and camping programs.
• Develop and implement new education programs
• Develop the annual education program and budget
• Provide reports as directed by the Executive Director and SDFU by-laws.
• Work with the staff to develop relationships with cooperatives, businesses, organizations, foundations, individuals and other entities which should contribute to the Foundation and/or support its education programs. This includes participating in grant applications as directed and securing education funds from cooperatives and other sources.

Qualifications:               Must have writing skills, database management and basic office computer skills, a willingness to work as a team member with other SDFU employees and a basic knowledge of SDFU and its Foundation.

Physical Demands:         Must be able to possess a valid driver’s license and insurance, use equipment related to essential functions, lift 30 pounds, and participate in meetings and classes indoors and outdoors.
