Key Responsibilities

  • Review patient medical histories and document medications, conditions, and alerts; communicate concerns to the doctor in a timely manner
  • Prepare and break down operatories and instruments, ensuring accurate and thorough clinical charting
  • Provide chairside assistance during dental and surgical procedures
  • Capture clear, diagnostic-quality CBCT and panoramic radiographs
  • Educate patients on procedures, medications, and comprehensive pre- and post-operative instructions
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain instruments and treatment areas in accordance with infection control standards
  • Monitor and maintain clinical inventory to ensure appropriate supply levels
  • Provide support to front office staff as needed to promote efficient daily operations
  • Anticipate procedural needs and follow established assisting protocols to support an efficient schedule
  • Perform basic equipment checks and report maintenance needs to ensure uninterrupted clinical flow

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Solid understanding of dental terminology and clinical workflows
  • Experience assisting with implant dentistry, including All-on-Four and overdenture procedures
  • Proficient in taking alginate impressions
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA regulations and infection control procedures
  • Committed to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
  • Skilled in obtaining CBCT and panoramic imaging
  • Professional, calm, and patient-focused demeanor
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in an established clinical environment
  • Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
  • Clear communicator with a positive and professional presence

Qualifications

  • Current BLS certification
  • Valid dental X-ray certification
  • Experience with wax try-ins and locator ring replacement
  • Experience with Dentrix software preferred
